Refunds and cancellation

How HomeReady handles refunds and cancellations for the Buyer Planner, written in plain English alongside the legal default under UK consumer law.

Last updated: 2 June 2026

Quick summary

  • Buyer Planner is one-time digital access. Once unlocked, your statutory 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 is waived — you confirm this at checkout.
  • Before access is unlocked, you have the full 14-day right to cancel for any reason.
  • After access is unlocked, we still review refund requests case-by-case if the product hasn't worked for you. Email refund@homeready.cc.
  • Refunds are processed via Stripe. Access is revoked automatically on full refund. Refunds typically land in 5 to 10 working days.

Your 14-day right to cancel (before access)

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you generally have 14 days to cancel a purchase of digital content for any reason. This statutory right applies before access to the digital content begins.

For the HomeReady Buyer Planner, this means: if you complete checkout but the product hasn't been unlocked for your account yet, you have a full 14 days to ask for a cancellation and a full refund — no reason needed.

Once access has begun

The Buyer Planner is digital content delivered immediately on purchase. At checkout you're asked to confirm that you want immediate access and that you understand this waives your 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

Once you confirm and access is unlocked, the statutory right to cancel no longer applies. This is the standard legal position for paid digital content under UK law.

Asking for a discretionary refund

Even after access begins, we still review refund requests case-by-case. If the Buyer Planner hasn't worked for you — whether that's a technical issue, a misunderstanding of what's included, or a personal-circumstance change — email refund@homeready.cc with your order details and a short note about what's not working.

We're not making a firm commitment to refund in every case, but our default posture is goodwill. We'll read every request and reply within two working days.

How refunds are processed

All refunds are processed through Stripe back to the original payment method. There's no separate refund form to fill in — we issue the refund from our side after agreeing it with you over email.

Once a full refund is issued, access to your Buyer Planner is automatically revoked. Partial refunds (rare) don't revoke access. Refunds typically land in your account within 5 to 10 working days, depending on your bank.

Your account, saved free-tool progress, and any other personal data remain in place after a refund — you can keep using HomeReady's free side. If you want your account deleted entirely, the delete-account flow at /account starts a 7-day grace window and then permanently removes it.
