Privacy notice

HomeReady is a UK first-time buyer planning platform. It provides guides, calculators, planning tools, and a personal account area where you can save your progress.

HomeReady provides general information, planning tools and educational guidance only. It does not provide regulated mortgage advice, legal advice, tax advice, financial advice, or a personal recommendation.

HomeReady also allows users to request a referral to a mortgage adviser or solicitor. This privacy notice explains what information the site collects and how it is used.

When you create an account, we collect your email address. Authentication is handled through Supabase Auth, a third-party service used to manage account access securely.

We may collect and store information you enter into HomeReady, including account details, contact details, calculator inputs and results, Buyer Planner inputs, saved planning data, referral request details, and payment-related records needed to manage purchases and access to paid features.

When you submit a referral request, we collect the details you provide, including the type of support you need and any notes you include.

Your account information is used solely to let you log in and access your saved progress on HomeReady.

Your saved planning data is used to display your results when you return to the site. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or shared with third parties.

Referral request details are used to help match you with a suitable mortgage adviser or solicitor. Your details are only shared with a referral partner when you have actively requested a referral and a match is being made.

When you submit a request via our mortgage support or legal support pages, we collect your name and email (required to respond), your phone number (optional), and details about your stage in the buying process and the help you're looking for.

We may also use limited technical information, such as a hashed IP address, to protect our forms from spam and abuse.

Our lawful basis for processing this data is legitimate interests — specifically, responding to enquiries you've submitted to us through our mortgage support and legal support forms, and protecting our forms from misuse.

We use this data to review your enquiry and decide whether HomeReady can help you. We do not share this data with third parties at the point you submit your request.

If we later decide to refer you to a partner broker or solicitor, we will ask for your separate consent before sharing any of your details with them.

You can ask us to delete your referral request data at any time by emailing hello@homeready.cc.

We use Stripe to process payments for paid HomeReady products. When you make a purchase, payment information is processed by Stripe in accordance with Stripe’s own privacy information and terms.

We do not store your full card details on our own servers. We may store limited payment-related information such as purchase status, customer ID, payment reference information, and access status so we can provide the product, manage your account, handle refunds where applicable, and keep accurate business records.

If you choose to add documents such as payslips, bank statements or ID to your Broker Pack, they are combined with your Broker Pack inside your web browser, on your own device. The files are not uploaded to HomeReady, and we do not receive or store them.

When the combined PDF has downloaded, or when you leave the page, the files are cleared from the page. Your browser may keep temporary copies as part of its normal working, and the finished PDF is saved to your device like any other download. You decide who you send it to.

Security software and browser extensions on your own device can see pages you open, including this one.

We may share personal data with trusted service providers who help us run HomeReady, including website hosting, authentication, database, payment processing, customer support, email delivery, and security providers. These providers only receive the information needed for their role.

HomeReady is hosted on Vercel. Account data and saved planning results are stored in Supabase, a hosted database service. Payments are processed by Stripe. All three providers operate under their own privacy and security standards.

Your data is not sold, rented, or shared with any third party except as described above in relation to referral requests and service providers.

Cookies that are strictly necessary to run HomeReady — keeping you signed in, protecting account security, completing a payment you started, and remembering your cookie choice — are used without consent, as UK PECR permits.

We also advertise on Google. If you agree, Google Ads sets an advertising cookie so we can tell which adverts lead to someone using HomeReady. This requires your consent and is not set unless you give it: Google Consent Mode keeps advertising storage denied by default, and you can accept, reject or change your mind at any time via “Cookie preferences” in the footer. Rejecting limits nothing you can do on the site.

We do not use Google’s Enhanced Conversions, so no hashed or plain personal data about you is sent to Google. Google receives only that a conversion happened, plus its own advertising identifiers where you have consented.

We count how our tools are used, so we can see where people get stuck — for example, how many times a question in Get started was answered, or a field in a calculator was changed. These usage statistics never include what you type or choose, carry no account ID or other identifier, and nothing is stored in your browser for them. We keep them for 25 months. You can switch them off for your browser at any time under “Usage statistics” in Cookie preferences.

If you have an account, you can also choose to keep an activity history, in Account settings. It is off unless you switch it on. When it is on, we record which steps and fields you use — never what you type — linked to your account ID, never your email address, and our analytics tool PostHog (EU-hosted) links the pages you view to your account. Only the HomeReady team can see it. We keep it for 90 days. Switching it off, or deleting your account, deletes the step-and-field history we hold. Page views PostHog has already recorded are not removed automatically — email hello@homeready.cc and we will have them deleted — and the anonymous usage counts can’t be removed for one person, because they carry no account ID. Switching off usage statistics in a browser also stops your activity history there.

We do not record session replays, and we do not send free-text content (for example, support request notes) to PostHog. Vercel, our host, also counts page visits and page speed for every visitor, without cookies.

Some pages may link to external websites, lenders, or services. Once you leave HomeReady, those websites have their own terms and privacy policies.

HomeReady is not responsible for how external websites collect or use your information.

You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and saved data.

If you want to make a complaint about how we have handled your personal data, contact us at hello@homeready.cc with the subject line Data Protection Complaint. Please include your name, contact details, and details of your complaint. We will acknowledge your complaint and investigate it in line with our data protection complaints process.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how we handle your personal data.

This privacy notice will be reviewed and updated as HomeReady adds new features. If we make material changes to how we collect or use data, we will update this page before those changes take effect.
