Privacy notice

HomeReady is a UK first-time buyer planning platform. It provides guides, calculators, planning tools, and a personal account area where you can save your progress.

HomeReady provides general information, planning tools and educational guidance only. It does not provide regulated mortgage advice, legal advice, tax advice, financial advice, or a personal recommendation.

HomeReady also allows users to request a referral to a mortgage adviser or solicitor. This privacy notice explains what information the site collects and how it is used.

When you create an account, we collect your email address. Authentication is handled through Supabase Auth, a third-party service used to manage account access securely.

We may collect and store information you enter into HomeReady, including account details, contact details, calculator inputs and results, Buyer Planner inputs, saved planning data, referral request details, and payment-related records needed to manage purchases and access to paid features.

When you submit a referral request, we collect the details you provide, including the type of support you need and any notes you include.

Your account information is used solely to let you log in and access your saved progress on HomeReady.

Your saved planning data is used to display your results when you return to the site. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or shared with third parties.

Referral request details are used to help match you with a suitable mortgage adviser or solicitor. Your details are only shared with a referral partner when you have actively requested a referral and a match is being made.

When you submit a request via our mortgage support or legal support pages, we collect your name and email (required to respond), your phone number (optional), and details about your stage in the buying process and the help you're looking for.

We may also use limited technical information, such as a hashed IP address, to protect our forms from spam and abuse.

Our lawful basis for processing this data is legitimate interests — specifically, responding to enquiries you've submitted to us through our mortgage support and legal support forms, and protecting our forms from misuse.

We use this data to review your enquiry and decide whether HomeReady can help you. We do not share this data with third parties at the point you submit your request.

If we later decide to refer you to a partner broker or solicitor, we will ask for your separate consent before sharing any of your details with them.

You can ask us to delete your referral request data at any time by emailing hello@homeready.cc.

We use Stripe to process payments for paid HomeReady products. When you make a purchase, payment information is processed by Stripe in accordance with Stripe’s own privacy information and terms.

We do not store your full card details on our own servers. We may store limited payment-related information such as purchase status, customer ID, payment reference information, and access status so we can provide the product, manage your account, handle refunds where applicable, and keep accurate business records.

We may share personal data with trusted service providers who help us run HomeReady, including website hosting, authentication, database, payment processing, customer support, email delivery, and security providers. These providers only receive the information needed for their role.

HomeReady is hosted on Vercel. Account data and saved planning results are stored in Supabase, a hosted database service. Payments are processed by Stripe. All three providers operate under their own privacy and security standards.

Your data is not sold, rented, or shared with any third party except as described above in relation to referral requests and service providers.

We currently use only cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to run HomeReady, such as keeping users signed in and protecting account security.

Once you are signed in, we use PostHog (EU-hosted) to record a small set of product events — for example, opening the Buyer Planner or saving a calculator — so we can understand how the service is used. PostHog is configured to run without setting cookies or local storage, and no analytics tracking runs on the site for visitors who are not signed in.

Events sent to PostHog are linked to your account ID, never your email address. We do not record session replays, and we do not send free-text content (for example, support request notes) to PostHog.

If we add advertising or other non-essential cookies in future, we will update this notice and, where required, ask for consent before using them.

Some pages may link to external websites, lenders, or services. Once you leave HomeReady, those websites have their own terms and privacy policies.

HomeReady is not responsible for how external websites collect or use your information.

You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and saved data.

If you want to make a complaint about how we have handled your personal data, contact us at hello@homeready.cc with the subject line Data Protection Complaint. Please include your name, contact details, and details of your complaint. We will acknowledge your complaint and investigate it in line with our data protection complaints process.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how we handle your personal data.

This privacy notice will be reviewed and updated as HomeReady adds new features. If we make material changes to how we collect or use data, we will update this page before those changes take effect.
